Who are Student Admissions Representatives?
RU Student Admissions Representatives are a paid group of students who represent the University in a variety of ways. Interactions with visitors typically include giving campus tours, speaking with group tours, serving as hosts, participating in recruitment events, corresponding with visitors, and assisting with annual campus events. We are a wonderful resource for prospective students and their parents.
This program is different from joining a club because we are helping people make life decisions. Whether they need to know more details about RU or are still searching to find out what college is all about, we help these visitors move closer to making a choice.
We've all heard the expression "you only have one chance to make a first impression." Tour guides often are the first, and only, impression a student has of RU. It is very important that we be positive and friendly, but above all, honest. Our program also holds its members to the highest of standards with comprehending the information and facts related to the field of recruitment.
Being a Student Admissions Representative is also a great way to stay informed about what is happening at RU. Student Admissions Representatives are involved in all corners of life at RU – as resident assistants, athletes, freshmen orientation assistants, peer instructors, members of Greek organizations, and much more. We hold events and meetings each year to stay up-to-date with all that goes on at RU and in touch with each other.
